In reality, the vacuum is not pulling blood into the cup, it is allowing the skin tissue around the cup to push blood into the treated area. When vacuum holdsthe treated area, it completely fills the cup lifting the tissue for a prescribed length of time. This creates a pumping action that improves circulation to the prescribed area. The pressure that is created is negative which simply means it creates a vacuum, thus relieving atmospheric pressure on a specified area of the body.
